While fans were there when Tori announced her pregnancy on Instagram in May 2019, the hit show TLC now gives a glimpse of the growing family before Lilah was born. Reflecting on this time, Zach and Tori say they have since learned a lot about the changes that come with raising two children.

“When we had Jackson, he was the only one we had to pay attention to. He was our whole world at birth and he captured 95% of our attention, ”says Tori. Good Housekeeping. “Then when Lilah arrives it’s a little bit more difficult because you have to give 50/50. You have to give your attention to each of them … but Jackson is such a good brother. He made it really easy.”

Zach went on to say that he had learned so much to stop sweating the little things.

“[With] your first child, you are tense, worried about every little cough, ”he says. “The second time, you say to yourself,” Okay, she’ll be fine. It’s good to cry. »»

Tori agrees, adding that no two children are alike. “Another thing we learned is that you can’t necessarily take what you did with your first child and apply it to your second child because each child is different,” she says. “And that has always been the case with them. We think they are two completely separate children, and we have to adjust our parenting accordingly.”

In the end, Zach and Tori hope the fans feel as if they are part of their family while following their journey.

“We are obviously not perfect, but we are doing the best we can,” says Zach. “And when you have children who have a disability or a potentially higher risk of having health problems, you learn to manage it appropriately, in a healthy way.”

Zach continues: “We have bumps on the road, but we are still going up. We always have fun. “
