Why Do I Have Bad Breath? Some Tips to Help You

Why do I have bad breath? This is a question we all need to ask ourselves regularly because we can have it without even knowing it

There is a terrible word for bad breath known as halitosis. If you’re like me, you don’t want to be identified with that word. In fact, halitosis can simply come from the foods you eat.

Whether it’s what you’re eating or a serious dental problem that’s causing halitosis, I know you want to get rid of it. It really comes down to that. You don’t want the people you hang out with to avoid you because they don’t have the courage to tell you about the bad smell coming out of your mouth.

So how can you get rid of this problem

The best thing to do is to start bad breath treatments on your own. A simple first step is to watch the foods you eat that can cause this dilemma. Some of them would be:

  • Citrus juices believe it or not may be one of the culprits. If you don’t drink in moderation, the acid in fruit can fuel bacteria in your mouth.
  • Garlic and onions top the list. While they do wonders for the taste of the food we eat and are healthy, they are a big cause of bad breath.
  • If you are a fan of dairy products, be aware that they can cause bacteria on your tongue. Of course, two favorite alcohols and coffees are on the list. It goes without saying that if you smoke it can be a big factor.

There are a few easy ways to combat this predicament.

You will be surprised to find that eating yogurt with probiotics will go a long way in alleviating this difficulty in your life. Also just simply drinking water on a regular basis will also help.

Some habits that you hopefully do daily are brushing, flossing, and rinsing at least two or three times a day. Remember, when brushing, be sure to brush your tongue as well.

What if these simple daily habits didn’t stop my horrible breathing?

Well, it’s probably time to visit your dentist. There may be minor or increasingly serious dental problems involved.

Dental plaque on your teeth, especially if it has turned into gum disease, can be a major source of your problem. Cavities can also play an important role in bad breath.

What if I can’t afford to go to the dentist?

Well I have some good news for you. If you can afford less than $ 180 a year for a family and less than $ 100 a year for an individual for a dental plan, you should read a little further. I will tell you how you can research your affordable dental plan.
