Fans are falling in love with the men from Katie Thurston’s upcoming season of The Bachelorette, but some have already been cut. Read on for spoilers!
Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette may be months away from airing, but fans are already falling in love with her 34 suitors. With the group consisting of entrepreneurs, athletes and activists, it’s easy to see why…especially after the non-stop drama among Matt James’ women on The Bachelor. However, rumors are swirling that a few early frontrunners were either eliminated by Katie on night one or cut from the show altogether by producers. Read on to see spoilers on which favorites may not have gotten a coveted rose.
The Bachelorette season 17 is currently filming at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa in New Mexico and is slated to air this summer. It will chronicle Katie’s journey to find love after she was sent home shockingly early by Matt. Despite starting her Bachelor experience as “vibrator girl,” Katie became a beloved figure among viewers when she defended Sarah Trott against “Queen” Victoria Larson. They wanted the 30-year-old to have another shot at romance, and now, with an entire cast of guys vying for her heart, she’s getting that chance.

But surprisingly, a few men that were pegged as perfect for Katie might not make it past (or even appear on) the premiere episode. As reported by @TheBachRecap on Instagram, three men have been recently active on social media: a big no-no for contestants, who must keep accounts private during production. Bao Wu, 36, who is into “fitness, basketball, boxing, nutrition, animals,” was thought to be a tough one to beat. Yet according to @TheBachRecap, “He seems to be the most active on Instagram.” New Jersey sales representative Jeff Caravello, 31, switched his Insta from private to public. As for Marty Hargrove, a 25-year-old male model, he deactivated his account. See the post below.
Countless fans were livid at the prospect of Bao being sent home early. While one refused to watch the season without him, another started the hashtag @JusticeForBao. Another suggested that, if Katie/producers didn’t want Bao, he should join Michelle Young’s season of The Bachelorette. There will be two seasons this year, with Michelle’s expected to air in the fall following Bachelor In Paradise. It’s unclear if some of Katie’s men will have the opportunity to meet Michelle, or if she’ll have her own cast of men.
Fingers are crossed that Katie not only finds a fiancé but follows the traditional process of the show. Last season, lead Clare Crawley left engaged to Dale Moss only several weeks into filming. And we all know what happened with that relationship. On the heels of a nasty split, the on-again, off-again pair have been spotted enjoying some PDA in Florida, despite Clare and Dale’s denial that they’re not officially back together. As for Katie’s ex Matt, who broke up with Rachael Kirkconnell when her Old South Ball photos surfaced, he is no longer associating himself with the franchise on social media. Hopefully, Bachelorette co-hosts Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe can guide Katie in making the right decisions.
