‘When Calls the Heart’ Fans Are Divided About Elizabeth’s Decision After the Season Finale
You never know what you will get during an episode of When the heart calls you, especially when it comes to Elizabeth’s recurring relationships with Nathan and Lucas.
At the start of the final episode, Elizabeth thanks Lucas for helping her make a deal and believing in her writing from the start. Shortly after, Nathan tries to ask Elizabeth for an appointment but is interrupted. Then, as only the Hearties can expect, Lucas rushes in and plans a special evening – not a date, Lucas says – with Elizabeth to celebrate his book contract.
- The season finale When the heart calls you“Don’t Go”, broadcast on Sunday, April 26 at 8 p.m. on Hallmark Channel.
- The love triangle of Elizabeth Thornton with Nathan and Lucas was at the heart of the season.
- Many Hearties Think Elizabeth finally made a decision, but some say the opposite.
At first, the fans were impressed by the non-date that Lucas prepared:
Within minutes, however, Elizabeth was already gone with – you guessed it – Nathan. He finally asks Elizabeth to go to dinner, but before she can even answer, Nathan is called to work, which gives him more time to think about a decision.
This is when things turn out: During the transfer of a prisoner, Nathan and Bill are arrested by the prisoner’s sister. She threatens to let her brother go, or she shoots them with her gun. Nathan tries to speak to him, but another gendarme reaches out to his weapon, causing the prisoner’s sister to shoot. The news travels to Hope Valley, and everyone suspects that Nathan was shot dead.
To everyone’s surprise – Elizabeth in particular – Nathan stops behind her, apparently unharmed. She runs to him and gives him “a hug heard all over the world.” For many Hearties, this moment confirmed that Elizabeth wanted Nathan.
Some say that the writing has remained on the wall from the start: Elizabeth is constantly looking for Nathan, but simply relies on Lucas because she knows he will always be there.
Others are not convinced that this sincere moment confirms anything. Do you remember when Elizabeth chose to dance with Lucas in the season 6 finale? Exactly.
Erin Krakow, the actress who plays Elizabeth, said Entertainment tonight that fans shouldn’t be rushing for now. “She wants to encourage Nathan, but when he asks her to go out, she can’t even say” yes “. With these two guys, there is this feeling of excitement but of trepidation,” she said. “Everything is moving very slowly.”
Brian Bird, the show’s creator, urges Hearties to listen to season 8, which is slated to air in 2021, to get all the answers on the love triangle. So we hate to tell you, but it seems like it’s time for you to practice your patience.
