The return of Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ much-maligned Bunny Day event has most players once again wondering when the holiday will end.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons‘ Bunny Day event for 2021 officially kicked off on March 28th, but if the reception to last year’s holiday is any indication, some people might be more anxious to hear when it ends. The Bunny Day event of 2020 was the first holiday in New Horizons‘ history, and it certainly didn’t get things off to a great start. Unfortunately, as of now it seems like this year’s event is largely unchanged from the first Animal Crossing Bunny Day, which means the most important question when discussing the holiday is, once again, “when will it be over?“
It’s important to note that the developers did take some feedback from last year into consideration, and there are some changes in place to make New Horizon‘s Bunny Day more tolerable this time around. For starters, the egg spawn rate will still be down from the obnoxiously high number seen at the start of the 2020 event. Fans might recall that the developers actually had to turn the spawn rate down mid-event last year when it received too many complaints, so it’s safe to assume Animal Crossing’s Bunny Day won’t ever be that intrusive again. Additionally, there are five new Bunny Day furniture items that can be purchased, and eggs can now be traded with other villagers. But the most important change of all is that the Bunny Day festivities are, in fact, shorter this year.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Bunny Day 2021 event will officially end on April 4th, or Easter Day. This means that the celebration only lasts about 7 days this year, rather than the 10-day span it occupied on Animal Crossing‘s calendar in 2020. Once again, Zipper T. Bunny will appear at the start of the holiday period and then return to the player’s island on April 4th, which marks the official Bunny Day. It’s then that he will provide the opportunity to grab a few exclusive items, as well as give the chance for the player to collect anything that might have been missed previously.
Zipper T. Bunny Will Return Once Again In Bunny Day 2021
If a player already endured Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Bunny Day the first time around, there isn’t all too much of a reason to get invested again in 2021, as all of the new themed items can be bought from Nook’s Cranny, and Zipper T. Bunny isn’t bringing any new DIY recipes with him this year.
Bunny Day 2021 still won’t be a top Animal Crossing: New Horizons holiday, but at least the event is moving in the right direction. Less egg spawns, a few new items, and – most importantly – the fact that the week-long event will be ending on April 4th, are all signs of progress. Maybe Bunny Day 2022 will take another step forward and only last three or four days.
