Hydration is key

Drink plenty of water throughout the day leading up to Holi. This plumps your skin cells and makes them more resilient to the drying effects of colours.

Apply a thick layer of moisturiser to your face, neck, and exposed areas days before Holi. This helps minimise colour absorption and removes them easily.

Oil up

Natural oils like coconut oil or almond oil can offer additional protection. Gently massage a thin layer of oil onto your face and body a day before Holi.

Protect lips

Don't forget your lips! Apply a thick layer of petroleum jelly or lip balm to keep them hydrated and protected from the drying effects of colours.

Sun safety

If you plan on playing Holi outdoors apply sunscreen at least 15 minutes before heading out. Reapply sunscreen every two hours.

Go natural

Use natural and organic colours whenever possible. Natural colours like beetroot powder, turmeric, and flower petals are gentler on your skin.

Protect your nails

Apply clear nail polish to your nails before Holi to prevent colour staining. You can also apply petroleum jelly around your nails for added protection.

Skip makeup

Skip heavy makeup on Holi day. Makeup can mix with colours and clog pores. If you do choose to wear makeup, opt for minimal, waterproof options.
