Sitharaman presets 6th Budget

Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1 presented the Union Budget 2024-25, her sixth straight Budget. With this, she equalled Moraji Desai's record of presenting the most number of budgets consecutively.

What is kantha stitch?

The traditional folk art was popular in Bengal & the word itself meant ‘Patched Cloth’, and has been especially used in quilting since its early days. Today, the stitch is used in sarees and other clothes.

Nirmala Sitharaman, this year, opted for a cool undertone as opposed to her warm-toned sarees during the previous years.

The 'accessory' that stood out was Sitharaman's red Bahi Khata that had the tablet with the Budget speech. Other than this, she wore a gold bangle and took a shawl.
