Somehow, fans convinced Disney + and Marvel Studios to release the unthinkable. Today we get the Zemo Cut, which features Baron Zemo’s hour of dancing at a club like we only saw in last week’s episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The brief sight of Daniel Bruhl grooving to tunes in a nightclub was too little for the fantastic MCUs who have lost their minds to the viral footage. They demanded more, and Disney + delivered with an official 60-minute Baron Zemo buffet spinning on the dance floor.
Marvel fans and true believers have spent most of the past week pestering Marvel Studios and Disney to release the Zemo Cut. The images requested show Baron Zemo cutting a carpet for an extended period, recovering his groove on the dance floor of a Madripoor club. Now that the wishes have been granted, is this all that could have been hoped for?
Rather. The hour-long clip is quite satisfying, providing an extended dive into The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 3 titled “Power Broker”. The dance sequences add nothing to the plot, but it perhaps makes Zemo more empathetic and likeable. If nothing else, it does make quite a few faces smile as we wait for Episode 4, which drops tonight / tomorrow.
“Power Broker” debuted last Friday. And Marvel fans can feel the same excitement that Snyder Cut fans had when they got their Justice League expansion on HBO Max a few weeks ago. We knew pretty quickly that a Zemo Cut existed, when Bruhl spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his return to the MCU. He offered this take, which enlightened quite a few MCU fans.
“It’s so hysterical. [That moment] was improvised when I saw the crowd dancing, becoming a loco. I felt the beat and I was like, Zemo has been sitting in a dodgy German jail cell for years. So he needs to let off steam and show his moves. Let’s go for that ,. I enjoyed Anthony’s reaction so much [Mackie] and Sébastien [Stan] looking at me. Still, I was 100% sure they would cut it [of the show]. “
This they did not do. And the scene was so popular with fans, they now have a whole hour of Daniel Brühl to let off steam after his baron spent years in a German jail cell. The actor goes on to say this.
“I was really surprised and happy that they kept it. It was a long dance. There’s more, but they cut this little moment. I didn’t know what was going on, but then I got all these messages from my cracking friends My friends who know me well know I’m an embarrassing and passionate dancer on the floor, but it would be different moves. It would be the spanish side of me kicking me and would do matador, flamenco moves, kneel down. Very embarrassing for my friends. “
Looks like Baron Zemo may have some more dance moves to bring to the floor if the opportunity presents itself in the future. For now, MCU fans will have to be content with the full hour they’ve been given. You can see more of Daniel Bruhl when he returns in this weekend’s all-new episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. There are only three episodes left.
