Sehwag was born on 20, 1978(37 years), in Delhi. He is an aggressive right-handed batsman and a part-time right-arm spin bowler, he played his first One Day International in 1999 and joined the Indian Test team in 2001. He is an opening batsman.
VIRENDRA SEHWAG ODI CAREER-
He played his ODI debut vs Pakistan on Apr 01, 1999 in Punjab Cricket Association Stadium. His career was started poorly as Shoaib took his wicket very early, he scored 1 run only, also his bowling performance was not good he gave 35 runs in just 3 overs. As a result he didn’t get chance in India team for next 20 months. He was not given another match until the series with Zimbabwe in December 2000. In March 2001 Sehwag scored 58 off 54 balls, against Australia in Bangalore and took three wickets and helped India to win and was awarded his first man of the match award.
The turning point of Sehwag’s career was in Sri Lanka 2001 in a tri-series along with New Zealand when he was sent to open as Sachin Tendulkar was facing injury, he scored a century just in 69 balls which third fastest century at that time.
He played 251 matches and 245 innings in which he scored 8273 runs having a strike rate of 104.33 and an average of 35.05.His highest score in ODI is 219 off only 149 balls against West Indies at Indore and this is the 2nd highest ODI individual score till date.
VIRENDRA SEHWAG TEST CAREER–
Sehwag played his first test debut vs South Africa at Bloemfontein on November 6, 2001, and scored a ton in his debut match.In 2004, he became the only Indian to score the triple century in the test, he scored 309 against Pakistan in Multan and made a total of 675 , highest total score ever against Pakistan.
