UPSC CDS 2024 Application Forms, Check Official Notification and Online Application Link

The official notification for conducting the Combined Defence Services Examination (II) 2024 has been released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on its official website, i.e. upsc.gov.in. The commission offers various courses of the Indian Military Forces through this examination.

This examination encourages individuals to be admitted to the Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Wings and Officers Training Academy across the country. Interested candidates with filled application forms can submit the UPSC CDS Application Form between 15 May and 04 June 2024. Both male and female candidates fulfilling the eligibility conditions can apply for this examination.

The UPSC CDS Official Notification was released under Examination Notice No. 11/ 2024 CDS-II. It was published with 459 positions of the Indian Military Forces. These various positions are separate for male and female candidates as per their categories. The distribution of vacancies as per the courses is given below:

Educational Qualification

The commission has mentioned the educational qualifications as per the post, which are given below:

  • For I.M.A. and Officers Training Academy, Chennai: A candidate should have any graduation degree or equivalent from a recognised university or institute.
  • For Indian Naval Academy: Candidates should have an Engineering degree or equivalent from a recognised university or institute.
  • For Air Force Academy: A degree from a recognised university with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the 12th level and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

Age Limit

The minimum age limit of the candidates should be 20 years and the upper age limit is not more than 24 years. Candidates are born not earlier than 02 July 2001 and not later than 01 July 2005.

Registration Fee

Candidates (excepting SC/ST/ female candidates who are exempted from the registration fee) are required to pay a fee of ₹200/- through any branch of State Bank of India by Cash/ Debit Card/ Credit Card /Visa /Master /UPI Payments or by using the internet banking facilities of any Bank.

UPSC CDS II Selection Process

  • Written Exam: To get admission in various courses of Indian Military Forces, the written exam will be varied for each course. The marks obtained in the written examination will decide whether a candidate can participate in the selection process’s next phase.
  • Interview: The commission will take an interview to check the candidate’s personality and intelligence. It will be conducted at one of the Service Selection Board Centres.

Note: The marks allotted to the written exam and the interview will be equal for each course, i.e. Indian Military, Indian Naval and Air Forces Wings.

  1. Candidates are advised to visit the UPSC’s official website, upsc.gov.in.
  2. Now, look for the “What’s New” section and find the “Exam Notice: Combined Defence Services Examination (II) 2024”.
  3. Click on the link and look for the “New Registration”.
  4. After clicking the new registration, complete and submit the basic details properly.
  5. After submitting the details, pay the application fee.
  6. Take a printed copy of the registration form for further processing.
