2. Are Fred and George the dumbest characters?

Fred and George Weasley had had the Marauder’s Map since their first year at Hogwarts and used it regularly. Yet they never asked questions. Why is Voldemort stuck on their Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher’s head? Why does their little sister go to a place in the castle that doesn’t exist in the middle of the night? Why is a guy named Peter Pettigrew sleeping with their little brother for years? In any case, it does not seem to bother them more than that. Proof that the Weasley twins are the most stupid of Harry Potter.

3. How to guess which Hogwarts student was kidnapped by the monster?

In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, a new inscription appeared on the wall: “Her skeleton will lie in the chamber forever”. When McGonagall, Snape, and the other teachers arrive at the wall, Madam Pomfrey asks McGonagall who the student the monster took and McGonagall replies that it’s Ginny Weasley. However, they haven’t counted the students yet since Harry and Ron are wandering the halls. How do they know it was Ginny the monster took?

4. Why create a whole scheme around the Triwizard Tournament and the trophy to trap Harry?

In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Barty Crouch Jr in the guise of Moody Mad-Eye hatches a super complicated plan where he uses dark magic to put Harry’s name in the goblet, bewitches everyone to benefit this last and the whole mess lasts for weeks. Wouldn’t it have been easier for Crouch Jr to Portkey Harry’s broomstick or one of his textbooks, wouldn’t it?

5. How could Sirius Black buy a Firebolt (and with what money)?

In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry receives a Firebolt without knowing where it came from. Creepy Hermione thinks it’s a trap and McGonagall confiscates it before returning it to her soon after. Harry learns afterwards that it was Sirius who sent him the broom, when everyone was still convinced that he was an assassin. No one could therefore buy the broom for him. So how did Sirius buy that broom without being spotted. Stranger still, with what money? Not sure it would go unnoticed at Gringotts if Black dropped by to empty his safe.

6. Why is the Sirius mirror not used?

In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Sirius gives Harry a gift and tells him to use it if he needs to contact him. Harry promises himself not to use it so as not to put Sirius in danger, but some time later, he takes ill-considered risks to get in touch with Sirius (by breaking into Dolores Umbridge’s office for example). Why doesn’t Sirius explain to her in his first letter (or his first appearance in the fireplace in the Gryffindor common room) that the gift is a mirror they can communicate with without putting themselves in danger? It seemed too simple…

7. Why not use Dumbledore’s Pensieve?

In this same film, everyone thinks that Harry is a liar, a fabricator who tries to attract attention? However, Voldemort is indeed back. Why not use Dumbledore’s Pensieve to prove to everyone that Harry is telling the truth? He would just have to deposit his memory of the return of the black mage in the cemetery of Little Hangleton and everyone could see the death of Cedric Diggory in full HD.

8. Why does Harry choose to make it complicated when you can make it simple?

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Harry senses the presence of the horcrux medallion around Umbridge’s neck when he enters the trial chamber. However, he had already been next to Umbridge a few minutes earlier in the elevator. Besides, they were even much closer, it would have been more logical to snatch the locket from him at that time.

9. How does Bellatrix recognize Neville so easily when she sees him?

When Bellatrix Lestrange tortured Neville Longbottom’s parents with Cruciatus, he was still a toddler. The witch then spent years in Azkaban, so she had no chance of spotting the good Neville around the corner. Also, Neville isn’t known as Harry Potter, there’s no reason photos of him should be publicly available.

10. Why is Lily’s death scene in Snape’s memories?

This mistake in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows only exists in the movies but it is there. When Harry consults Snape’s memories in Dumbledore’s Pensieve, he witnesses the death of his parents, killed by He-whose-name-we-must-not-pronounce-the-name-but-balec. However, this is impossible because Snape was not present, so this scene cannot appear in his memories. (In the Deathly Hallows book, the memories focus on before and after Lily died with a devastated Snape mourning her race).
