The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) will conduct the Combined Civil Services Examination (CCSE-2024) to recruit various Group 1 administrative positions within the state’s bureaucracy. The first phase prelims test is scheduled for 13 July 2024 across Tamil Nadu.
The TNPSE Group 1 Vacancies are framed to fill a total of 90 positions, which include Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendents of Police (Category-1), Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Taxes) and other posts. Registered eligible candidates can download the TNPSC Group 1 Hall Ticket from the official website to participate in this examination.
It is a 3-tier examination consisting of Prelims, Mains and Interview rounds. Applied candidates must pass from these tiers to get the job opportunities under Group 1 Vacancies.

The commencement of the applications was finished between 28 March to 27 April 20242. Many candidates have applied for these positions and are waiting for the hall ticket. The hall ticket will be published one week before the examination. Candidates can access the same by using the application number and date of birth on the portal.
Exam Date and Time
The commission will take the Combined Civil Service Examination on 13 July 2024. It is scheduled to be held between 09:30 am to 12:30 pm. Candidates have to complete their exams within this timeframe. It is noted that the commission will give no extra time to complete the exam.
TNPSC Group 1 Selection Process
The commission will select the candidate’s marks in the CCSE examination, followed by the certificate verification, interview or counselling process. Firstly, candidates have to appear in the preliminary examination. Qualified candidates will be able to take the Main Examination. The Prelims Exam consists of multiple-choice questions, whereas the Mains Exam will be descriptive.

TNPSC Group 1 Prelims Exam Pattern
- This examination consists of 200 questions, totalling 300 marks.
- Each correct answer will carry 1.5 marks.
- Within 03 hours, candidates have to complete this examination.
- There is no negative marking scheme for incorrect answers.

Your application form and your hall ticket are two important documents for your identity in the Group I exam. You must check and verify all the details on the hall ticket when downloading it. The TNPSC Group 1 Hall ticket consists of the following information:
- Candidate’s name, roll number, date of birth
- Exam date, time and centre details
- Candidate’s photograph and signature
- General Instructions to the candidates.

- Click on the link and fill in the required details, such as application number and date of birth.
- Now, click on the “Submit” button.
- On the screen, the hall ticket will be opened.
- Download it, and don’t forget to take at least two printed copies of the hall ticket to enter the examination hall.
