Tired Of iPhone? How To Try A Samsung Phone Without Buying One

Samsung’s new iTest app lets iPhone owners experience a Samsung smartphone right on iOS – and it works surprisingly well.

Samsung just released a new web app that allows iPhone owners to mimic Samsung’s Android interface right in iOS. Samsung has been no stranger to poking fun at Apple over the years, but essentially allowing people to try out a Samsung smartphone on Apple’s own hardware could take the cake as the company’s best stunt at this. day.

Given that Samsung and Apple are the two biggest names in the mobile tech space, it should come as no surprise that the two companies have done well. Samsung relentlessly mocked the iPhone for its notch and missing headphone jack, Apple routinely picks the wrong Android operating system adoption numbers, and the list goes on.

Now Samsung has come up with something called “Samsung iTest”. It’s announced by the New Zealand division of the company, but anyone can use this feature right now. After setting up Samsung iTest with just a few clicks, iPhone users can navigate a Samsung smartphone interface directly on their iPhone, including browsing home screens, opening apps, and more. There’s something pretty remarkable about being able to use an Android interface on an Apple device, even though it’s basically just an interactive web app.

Samsung iTest iPhone app

To set up and use Samsung iTest, the process is quite simple. Open Safari on an iPhone and go to “https://itest.nz/.” Tap the Share icon at the bottom of the screen, scroll down to the sharing page, and then tap “ Add to Home Screen. ” Go home, find the new Samsung iTest app shortcut and tap it to start the experience.

Once Samsung iTest is opened, users are treated with an Android interface that would be found on any modern Samsung phone. There are home screens with app icons, app drawer, notification shade, etc. All of this can be browsed like a real Samsung device, and there are many apps that can even be used. Apps like Messages, Samsung Health, Galaxy Store, and even Settings are all functional, and although the featured content is pre-generated by Samsung, the main experience is very similar to a real Samsung smartphone.

Not only could this be useful for people who are planning to switch from iPhone to Android, but the fact that something like this exists in the first place is rightfully impressive. iTest might not put Android on an iPhone, but it mimics it to a really convincing degree – and Samsung deserves a lot of credit for that. Even if someone is perfectly happy with their iPhone and isn’t planning on changing anytime soon, it’s still worth checking out.
