Tips to Creating Picture Perfect Home Look
Creating Picture Perfect Home : There are many reasons why you may want to have a picture perfect home. You may just like things neat, clean, and organized. Maybe you have company coming over, or maybe your intention is to sell your home and you want to make sure that people see all of the good in it and none of the bad.
Whatever the reason for your need to make your home look like it belongs on the cover of House Beautiful, it’s easy to make it look that way. It’s really just about making sure the rooms are bright, organized, and you have details (like a couch that stands out or some pillows that add something) that pop. Here is how to do it.
Decorating the Walls
While you don’t want all of your walls cluttered with art and pictures, you should have something on some of them. Bare walls are just boring. Start out by having a nice accent wall in a color that livens up the room and goes well with the color on all of your other walls, then leave that accent wall bare.
Pick art and photos that work with your room decor and coloring. You want them to be part of the space, to look like they belong there.
The Perfect Furniture
Furniture is one of the most fun parts of creating a picture perfect home, and a lot of it depends on your style. Maybe you want modern, or maybe you want vintage. Maybe you want a mixture so your home has a nice multigenerational feel, or a country appeal to it.
Look at the colors of your furniture. If you have a floral couch, pick chairs that have one of the colors from the couch in them, a rug with another one of those colors, then curtains with yet another one of those colors. This will help the individual colors pop. You can do this with your accent pillows as well.
Your Dining Room
You want your dining room to look like a family gathering place, but an elegant one. Purchase a beautiful tablecloth for your table, and some sort of centerpiece to attract the eye. You might want candles on your table to add ambience, especially if you ever have romantic dinners with your significant other (just make sure they are unscented).
The dining room is also a good place for a piece of wall art, or two. You can be a little more free with this piece, just picking something that you enjoy.
Have fun in your kitchen with matching dishes, matching appliances, and maybe even a matching wall pattern. Kitchens are the perfect place for some fun wallpaper, even if you only do a border in there. You can find so many color options for your kitchen items, even read plates (perfect if you are decorating with roosters).
This is one of the most fun rooms to decorate (aside from a baby’s room). Have a little fun with it. In fact, if you are going for a country motif, your dishes don’t even all need to match one another!
