Do you need a break from all the horror movies and TV shows on Hulu this month? If so, we’ve found three rom-coms that are sure to brighten your day on Hulu in October.
Ahead dropping out, there aren’t too many successful collaborations between horror and romance. But one of this month’s picks is a mix of science fiction and romance. The other two selections include a classic Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant romance flick and a recent romantic tale that flew completely under the radar last year. These are three rom-coms on Hulu you need to watch in October.
Robot (2023)
robots Takes place about a decade in the future, where androids are nearly human-like, and there’s no Blade Runner hunting them down when they go rogue. Despite this, it is illegal to have nearly perfect human android doubles, which doesn’t stop Ellen (Shailene Woodley) and Charles (Jack Whitehall) from sending their identical duplicates to do the hard work of living, dating, and shenanigans.
It all goes wrong when the robot doubles, E2 and C2, decide that they are actually in love. The androids begin their crime spree by stealing the identities of their owners. This forces Elaine and Charles to team up to find their renegade robots in order to reclaim their identities. And they clearly don’t like each other as much as their doubles do.

Notting Hill (1999)
Notting Hill arrived in theaters nearly a quarter of a century ago, and yet its premise has never been more relevant than now. Julia Roberts, in one of her best romantic comedies ever, plays Anna Scott, an actress who is basically as famous as the woman who plays her. Local bookstore owner Will Thacker (Hugh Grant) doesn’t know Anna when he first meets her. But they both felt the spark, and they kept coming back to each other for love and maybe something more.
Unfortunately, the press interest in Anna’s love life is overwhelming for both Will and Anna. That’s the only thing that can stop them from ever finding out if they can have a life together.

What’s Love Got To Do With It? (2022)
The late Tina Turner has nothing to do with the latest movie named What’s Love Got To Do With It?, but the question itself is at the forefront of the film. Lily James plays Zoe Stevenson, a film producer who is infatuated with her best friend, Kaz Khan (Shazad Latif), and is tempted to enter into an arranged marriage with a young woman, Maymouna (Sajal Ali), from his native Pakistan. That’s his plan.
Zoe decides to go back to Pakistan with Kaz and make a film about the experience. But Kaz soon discovers that he and Mayouna have little in common. In fact, Kaz may be a better romantic match with Zoe, but it may be too late for both of them to find love with each other.
