Lots of people have air purifiers in their homes, but what about in their cars? The Luft Duo makes this possible. It’s the world’s first portable, filterless air purifier – and it debuts at CES 2021. This means users won’t have to buy expensive replacement filters, but can instead rely on Luft Duo’s UV LED and photocatalytic technology to trap dust, pollen, mold and other pathogens out of the air. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, more people than ever are looking for ways to keep their air clean.
The Luft Duo is unique in that while it doesn’t need multiple filters, it uses an easily removable and washable filter. Just wash it gently and let it dry before reinserting it into the purifier. The filter traps larger particles, while patented photocatalytic technology allows the Luft Duo to break down particles that would pass through traditional HEPA filters – particles like formaldehyde and other VOCs, mold and even pathogens. This technology is capable of breaking down molecules as small as 0.0001 millimeters.
The Luft Duo is an ecological device in more than one way. With the reusable filter, users will not add excess waste to landfills in the form of non-biodegradable filters. The air purifier also does not produce ozone because it purifies the air. Sound wise, the LUFT Duo is almost silent, reducing the overall level of noise pollution in the home with an operating noise level of just 19 decibels.
The device is small enough to take with you, whether you are on the road or going to a cafe. It’s designed for spaces up to 240 square feet, so it’s best for small areas like a bedroom. LUFTQI, the parent company behind the Luft Duo, says the coronavirus can only survive in the air for an hour when the LUFT Duo is operating against its normal 21-hour flight life.
The Luft Duo is already in production and has sold thousands of units in Asia, but CES 2021 will be its global launch. The device can be purchased through its IndieGoGo page for $ 149 and includes the Luft Duo itself, a power cable, a vent cap to control airflow, and a cup holder that allows it to s ‘fit securely in your vehicle. As CES 2021 approaches, there will certainly be a lot to look forward to from him.
