You will want one in every color.

The sustainable shoe brand Allbirds is expanding its range today with the launch of its first clothing line. The US-NZ brand is now bringing its know-how in the field of textile innovation to clothing in the form of a curated collection of essentials.

The brand’s first clothing line includes a puffer, a wool sweater, a cardigan and a t-shirt – or, as the brand calls it, “clothing with a purpose”. And in a world first, each item is marked with the item’s CO2 footprint. As with its range of smart shoes, the Allbirds clothing line uses hard working fabrics to keep you warm and dry without harming the environment.

The hero piece in the lineup is the TrinoXO tea. The shirt ($ 65) is made from a proprietary material innovation that uses naturally-sourced fibers from the discarded shells of marine life (combined with Tencel Lyocell, a breathable tree fiber, and merino wool). These mussels are the second most common biopolymer on earth, and the chitosan – a fiber in the mussels – “has unique properties that enable your clothes to stay fresh longer without relying on mineral minerals such as zinc or silver”, according to a press release from the brand. The t-shirt – available in six colors (three classic, three limited editions) for men and women – feels incredibly soft and is cut with the perfect amount of slouch for casual comfort.

The line also includes a water-repellent buffer ($ 340) available in charcoal for both men and women, as well as cream for women and forest green for men, which uses a mix of tencel and recycled polyester as a down alternative, providing winterproof warmth plus a slightly oversized wool cardi ($ 200) and sweater ($ 185), both made from responsible (and super-soft) New Zealand merino.
