The Conners is dedicating its upcoming season 3 finale to fallen audio crew member Terrel Richmond, who passed away on the set on Thursday.
The Conners will dedicate its upcoming season 3 finale to its fallen crew member. Spawning off the ashes of the ill-fated Roseanne reboot, which was canceled due to its titular star Roseanne Barr’s racist remarks, The Conners premiered on ABC in October 2018 to astounding viewership and immense critical acclaim. While the show continues to enjoy a successful run on-screen even in its current season 3, it recently faced a major setback off-screen when an audio crew member died on set Thursday after a fatal medical event. Sound engineer/boom operator Terrel Richmond, who also worked on the original 1988 Roseanne, was on the catwalk on Stage 22 at the CBS Studio Center when he suffered a medical emergency. Although paramedics arrived instantly to provide aids, all efforts to resuscitate Richmond failed, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving the entire cast and crew devastated.
Still dumbstruck at the tragedy, The Conners has now decided to dedicate its upcoming season 3 finale to its fallen crew member. On Friday, D.J. Conner actor Michael Fishman posted a picture to Instagram revealing that the cast and crew were filming The Conners’ season 3 finale “in loving memory of a lovely man.” In the caption of his post, which featured a clapboard titled “In memory of Terrell,” Fishman included a tribute to Richmond initially penned by director Jody Margolin Hahn. Check out the post below:
Richmond was an integral member of the Roseanne and The Conners family, and his passing has undoubtedly devastated his friends, family, and colleagues. But while he may be gone, his legacy will live on forever through his work. Dedicating the upcoming season finale to Richmond is a fitting move on part of The Conners team as it not only allows his colleagues to cherish their fondest memories with him but also honors the effort and diligence that Richmond put into his job. The Conners season 3 has already wrapped up production, which means that its season finale honoring Richmond will likely air sometime in May.
