La Serra is a small village halfway between Venice, Cortina and the Prosecco vineyards, completely immersed in the nature that today is a charming bed & breakfast, where luxury is not the affected and rigid luxury of an impersonal hotel, but has the warmth of the family traditions that animate it and the refinement of simple and chic things.
Here, in La Serra, from 7 to 9 August, for three days, eleven people will be able to meet with the hostess and the writer Gian Luca Favetto, which will animate a very collected literary retreat around the theme “Reading the world”. But what does it mean to read the world? Favetto explains: “I believe that reading is reading worlds beyond the page, entering words and stories to go and live elsewhere. I believe it is to put works on the way, to relate things people places. This is why literature is a great geography of stories. And we take a trip to its borders “.
The program, which begins on Friday evening, is organized as follows: Friday evening – Welcome pages; Saturday morning and afternoon – Books as travel companions; Sunday morning – On reading and writing. A journey through the pages and stories of four books and four writers: “We sail the oceans, we cross forests and deserts, we live pages like cities. From Belluno to New York. We start with Herman Melville, we continue with Ernest Hemingway and Dino Buzzati
and we end up near Walt Whitman. To act as a means of transport: Moby Dick, The 49 tales, The desert of the Tartars and Leaves of grass. Reading together, moving from one title to another, we recompose a single story, a single book “.
