We know from Spider-Man: Homecoming that director Jon Watts is a regular at easter eggs hidden in license plates. This is still the case with Far From Home and this first plate of the film, 463, which indicates the number 4 of Spider-Man, released in 1963, dedicated to the super-villain Sandman, who makes his first appearance there. The Sandman that we see next in the film is an illusion of Mysterio.

When Nick Fury picks up Peter, his car bears the MTU 83779 plate, for Marvel Team-Up n°83, released in July 1979. And precisely, the comics shows the alliance between Spider-Man and Nick Fury. When the director mentions what happens on screen in fiction… with a very real reference.

And it’s not the last! MJ and Peter have just kissed after the final fight, but Jon Watts is not done with his nods to comics, like here with The Amazing Spider-Man 143, dedicated to the super-villain Cyclone, and which shows the two characters kissing for the first time.

Sony Pictures

far from home concluded Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it was fashionable for Marvel to send a message to its fans. J. Jonah Jameson, emblematic character of the Marvel universe, editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle, appears in the MCU as the presenter of a controversial internet show in the guise of JK Simmons, who already played the role in the trilogy of Sam Raimi. Still just as overexcited, Jameson goes after (unsurprisingly) Spider-Man.
