Snakes as a species have always been a subject of both fascination and fear. Explore the beauty in the scaly reptiles with these free snake coloring pictures for adults and kids alike.
L if you fear snakes. I do – fear them, not love them. Not in the wild, anyway. But there’s something about the variety of serpents and their lifestyle that makes them endlessly fascinating: a hint of usual exoticism, strange, colourful, dangerous, that we cannot resist.
Perhaps this is why snakes have been depicted in art since the dawn of human culture – painted on cave walls, carved onto altars, etched into pottery, carved onto crucifixes and tattoos, licked by Medusa, whipped by Hades, strangled by St Patrick and turned into staves, scars and spectacles. Something about snakes, with their iridescent skin, serpentine bodies and glinting eyes, sends out a glow that draws people towards them.
While most of us don’t want a snake as a pet for our home, bring your love for the reptiles into a safe environment – a colouring book. Picture colouring those sinuous bodies, making their shining scales shimmer more, drawing more personality in those royal heads. Isn’t it the calmest and most fascinating experience?
Decorating brings them an atmosphere of relaxation, recreational opportunity and the development of creativity for adults.
