Sebastian Vettel will leave Ferrari at the end of the season
Team manager Mattia Binotto said the tough decision was a two-way street, but “the time has come to separate to achieve our respective goals.”
Vettel, who joined Ferrari in 2015, said financial matters had nothing to do with it and hoped he would share more “good times” in his spare time with the team.
“The team and I have realized that there is no longer a common desire to stay together beyond the end of this season.”
The Formula 1 season has not yet started in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic and it is unclear where Vettel will go next in his career.
