The trend of rustic-modern interiors is a welcome change from vintage rustic by taking a break from the finicky aesthetic. Unfinished exposed beams and rustic brick walls with natural wood or stone floors furnished with antiques and natural fabrics. It’s a style that I like to explore.
Incorporate rustic elements into our homes in casually sophisticated ways such as the use of an ancient door as a headboard. The key here is the display. Open the doors so that the two door panels pass on both sides of the frame and hang a nice iron lantern to complete the design. Simple iron bedside tables and a long trunk at the end of the bed with hand-crafted bed linen. The idea is to be underestimated. Rustic patinated mirrors sit on a long dresser with a modern contemporary chair defining the appearance.
The recovered arches make the extraordinary floor mirrors mix with soft upholstery, industrial chairs and a lot of vintage white. The old coffee table and the fire console recovered give the right consistency to an otherwise modernist room. A bright yellow carved wardrobe against the white wall gives a touch of color. Rustic furniture mixed with modern functional chairs with clean lines give a sophisticated touch. The sophisticated design blends with a rustic dining table with white door and leather chairs.
The kitchen is more towards a rustic industrial style with steel framed windows. The white paint and granite counters keep the modern edge in contrast with an ancient tribal carved Damchia that has been converted into an island making the piece more functional.
Fresh yet worn with the tender love of the family, the sofa is located in the corner. Use soft colors in the powder blue and icy purple spectrum and keep the level of distress soft on the cabinets. No curtain on the windows gives a feeling of open space
The bathroom dressing table is composed of an old sideboard with hinged doors with a granite top and sinks. Suspension lamps and showers in simple glass with wall-to-wall marble tiles give the bathroom a refined modern and sober rustic elegance.
The library has a huge carved old bone table with white upholstered armchairs and a bench on the other side. Modern shelves line the wall full of classics and encyclopedias. The main wall is dedicated to family paintings framed in antique carved wood and burnished brass. Nostalgic and vintage but modern, comfort is the key element in this design.[
