Can Google Pixel 8 Pro Survive 7 Years?! – durability test!

Another new smartphone means another new durability test from Jack Nelson of popular YouTube channel JerryRigEverything.

This time it’s Google’s recently released Pixel 8 Pro that withstands the usual scratches, scrapes, burns, and bending included in Nelson’s challenging stress test.

“Google promised seven years of updates, I hope their hardware can handle seven years of use,” the YouTuber says at the beginning of the video. The YouTuber says: “To find out, today we It will take years.” ‘Deserving of abuse.

After initial scratch testing, we can see that the display is not as resistant as Apple’s Ceramic Shield display, but performs similarly to most other handsets with tempered glass.

Next, Nelson’s box cutter causes the kind of damage you’d expect when a sharp blade comes up against aluminum, and no, it’s not pretty. And when the naked flame meets the Pixel 8 Pro’s 6.7-inch display, the flame wins.

Being the same size as the iPhone 15 Pro Max, whose rear glass recently broke during the Nelson’s Bend test, and recalling how the Pixel 7 Pro suffered damage to the phone’s antenna lines in the same test last year As it happened, we were particularly interested to see how the Pixel 8 Pro handled some high-pressure turns.

Turned out very good. Although it was creaking like an old tree being shaken in a gale, the Pixel 8 Pro showed no signs of falling and, encouragingly, the back glass remained intact. Nelson also noted how steep the phone’s antenna lines were, which suggests Google did something to strengthen that part of the device. Or that Nelson was not pressing hard enough on the phone.

Overall, though, we’re happy to report that the Pixel 8 Pro performed well in Nelson’s durability test.
