Pharrell Buys $30 Million Mansion In Coral Gables, FL
Like many celebrities recently, it seems like Pharrell Williams is ready to eliminate the coronavirus in new excavations. In particular, he chose a large 17,000 square feet Manor in Coral Gables, Florida, which The New York Post reports that he spent about $ 30 million. The property spans nearly 3.5 hectares and is located right against the Atlantic Ocean near Miami Beach.
And the mansion itself, known as El Palmar, is a doozy, with nine bedrooms and 11 1/2 bathrooms, but Pharrell would have gotten a pretty good deal on that, paying about a third less than the sellers’ original asking price of $ 45 million.
This is how El Palmar has been described in marketing materials:
“A lush, tropical landscape is the essence of El Palmar, a truly unique residence located in the heart of Coral Gables on one of its larger waterfront properties. A majestic storybook frame designed by famous architect Cesar Molina and landscape designer Raymond Jungles. El Palmar is presented as art, with native species, a magnificent koi pond and paths of coral rock collected on site. An open family room, a library quiet, 2,000-bottle wine cellar, expansive kitchen, pub-style bar, lounge with fireplace, private service wing and elevator. Impressive summer kitchen, large pool, and boathouse the perfect environment to relax. A private and personalized 110’x36 ‘boat entrance guards the boats and allows a breathtaking view of the water – a total of 335’ +/- of frontage on the water. “
Dirt.com of Variety points out that Pharrell once owned a property in South Florida, having sold a penthouse in Miami in 2007 for $ 8.45 million before buying another for more than $ 12 million. He sold this one in 2015, but would have looked for another place in the region for some time before choosing El Palmar, which is of course a mansion rather than a penthouse.
