It has been a fantastic year for Patrick mahomes. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback won a Super Bowl in February. Then, in July, he signed a record $ 450 million contract extension, which could be worth up to $ 503 million. Mahomes ended the month with become a member from the new Kansas City Royals ownership group.
It has not been reported how much investment Mahomes has made. However, the franchise was bought for $ 1 billion last year, so Mahomes likely had to pay a hefty sum to get involved. Even a 1% stake would cost him around $ 10 million. Until this point in his career, Mahomes has only earned a total of $ 13 million in the field.
Mahomes joins a property group led by businessman John Sherman and more than 20 Kansas City-related investors, including actor Eric Stonestreet. Although Mahomes’ role is more of an ambassador than an operational one, it is still a nice addition to his CV.
Ownership in the Royals isn’t the only expense Mahomes made, either. ESPN’s Louis Riddick tweeted a photo of a race the freshly paid quarterback just bought.

It’s a Ferrari 812 Superfast, the latest addition to the Mahomes collection. The ride starts at $ 338,000 and features a 788 horsepower V-12 engine. Mahomes is the son of Pat Mahomes, a former major league pitcher. The elder Mahomes has played in over 300 baseball games, mostly as a reliever.
Young Mahomes was also a baseball prospect in his youth. The Detroit Tigers drafted him in 2014, although he never played for them. It’s fair to say that he made the right choice while playing soccer. But with that last move, he’ll still have the opportunity to make some noise on a baseball field.
