A picture on one of the wrap gifts for Spider-Man: No Way Home seems to further support the idea that Andrew Garfield will appear in the film.
The wrap gifts for Spider-Man: No Way Home seemingly hint at Andrew Garfield’s role in the MCU film. Slated for release in December of this year, Spider-Man: No Way Home will be Tom Holland’s third and potentially last solo outing as Peter Parker. It’s expected to pick up with Peter in the aftermath of 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, which ended with his identity being revealed to the world just as he was framed for the murder of Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal). As a result, it seems likely that Spidey will kick off this next installment on the run, or at least working to protect himself from those who want to harm him.

However, Peter might have more pressing concerns ahead than just a leaked identity. Reports have indicated Spider-Man: No Way Home will be one of the many upcoming Marvel movies to delve into the multiverse. This theory is supported by the sheer number of past Spider-Man actors who have been said to have roles in the film. In addition to past villains like Jamie Foxx (Electro) and Willem Dafoe (Green Goblin), cinema’s past Peter Parkers Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are reportedly involved somehow. Marvel has repeatedly debunked and dodged these stories, as has Holland.
However, fans have potentially received a new clue supporting Garfield’s involvement. The cast and crew of Spider-Man: No Way Home received several goodies to celebrate the end of filming, and some pics were shared online by actor Jordan Foster. Eagled-eyed fans were quick to note that one gift (potentially a t-shirt) has a picture of Garfield’s Spider-Man suit. Foster has since deleted his tweet, though the images can still be seen through Spider-Man: No Way Home News.
It’s important to mention that this is not explicit confirmation that Garfield is in Spider-Man: No Way Home, though the use of the picture is a little suspect. One would assume they would use an image of Holland’s suit over someone else’s, hence why some have made the connection in believing this is proof that Garfield will appear in the film. It’s certainly a strange choice, and one that might (emphasis on might) actually represent No Way Home‘s story.
Even if Garfield and Maguire truly have roles in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel won’t confirm it until much closer to the movie. Their returns would easily be counted among the biggest events in the MCU, and the studio will want to treat it with the suspense and thrill it deserves. Until that confirmation comes, though, fans will pore over every little detail and clue that will emerge, particularly if it supports the idea that Maguire and Garfield are making Spider-Man comebacks.
