Update: September 7, 2020 (2:00 a.m. CET): We’ve noticed several leaks related to the Moto G9 Plus over the past few months, ranging from the battery and charging details (see original article below) to renders and more.
Now an airline in Slovakia (h / t: WinFuture-Journalist Roland Quandt) has the phone quietly listed on its website. The Orange Slovakia list shows the phone in renders and confirms the previously leaked renders. So expect a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a hole cutout, and a 64-megapixel main camera. The listing also has some other notable features, namely a 6.8-inch FHD + screen, 5,000 mAh battery, 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of expandable storage, and 4G connectivity. Finally, we can also see a quoted price of € 235 (~ $ 278) which suggests this is in line with previous budget Moto units.
Original article: July 27, 2020 (12:30 p.m. ET): Since introducing the series a few years ago, Motorola’s Moto G family has offered affordable devices with features like all-day battery life. A leak discovered by MySmartPrice suggests the upcoming Moto G9 Plus won’t change that formula.
According to a listing from TÜV Rheinland, a company that conducts independent testing for other companies, the phone has a 4,700 mAh battery and supports chargers up to 30 W. Note that Motorola may not have a 30 W power adapter in the Includes the scope of delivery of the phone. It may be something that you have to buy separately.
For context, the Moto G8 Plus has a 4,000 mAh battery. If the listing is correct, the Moto G9 Plus battery is approximately 16% larger. You can easily get all day battery life with the G8 Plus. A battery with an even higher capacity is therefore good news.

We don’t know much about the Moto G9 Plus at the moment. A previous listing MySmartPrice found said the phone would contain 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. When we tested the G8 Plus earlier this year, we found that the phone sometimes had problems multitasking due to its limited RAM. The fact that Motorola didn’t seem to add more RAM is disappointing. That said, we’ll likely learn more about the Moto G9 Plus in the coming days and weeks, including whether or not Motorola is bringing back the phone’s unique action camera.
