The New High-Speed Corridor Will Reduce The Mumbai-Nagpur Travel Time By 50%

According to the announcement by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, the travel time between Mumbai and Nagpur via train will be reduced by 5 hours due to the introduction of a new high-speed corridor on the route. At present, it takes at least 13.2 hours to cover the distance between these two cities of Maharashtra.

“One such proposal is to connect the Nagpur-Mumbai Super Expressway (Samruddhi Mahamarg) with the railway line connecting Nagpur-Mumbai. The construction of such high-speed corridors will make it possible to cover the distance between Nagpur and Mumbai in just five hours,” the Railway Minister said. Not only this, he also mentioned that the railway lines will be connected to national highways across India.

The railway line is to be connected to the metro network to create a mass rapid transit system. The MoU was signed in Nagpur, which was attended by Piyush Goyal, Nitin Gadkari and Devendra Fadnavis among others.
