Mexico, Andrea Meza, takes the crown of Miss Universe 2021

Miss Universe 2021 – After a year on hiatus, this Sunday night in Hollywood, Florida, the exciting 69th edition of Miss Universe took place, where Miss Mexico, Andrea Meza, from Chihuahua, became the new universal queen.

It is the third Mexican Miss Universe; the first was Lupita Jones (Baja California) and the second, Ximena Navarrete (Jalisco). Lupita Jones won in 1991 and Ximena Navarrete in 2010.

After seven long years, the coveted Miss Universe crown finally returned to a Latina.

The lucky queen knew how to show off from the beginning.

The gala began with the election of the 21 semifinalists, one selected by the votes of the public, and the other 20, previously chosen by eight judges, all women, including the former Puerto Rican universe, Zuleyka Rivera.

This first group paraded in a bathing suit, and from there, the jury chose the Top 10, which they modeled in a ball gown.

The coach of beauty queens, Alexander Gonzalez, explains why one of these five Latinas can win the crown of Miss Universe 2021.

Minutes later came one of the most tense moments of the night, the selection of the five finalists. They had to answer the questions of the jury, which determined the positions in which they were at the end of the contest.
