LeBron James calls out Fox News host Laura Ingraham for defense of Drew Brees

“He has a right to have his opinion on what it means to kneel and the flag for him. I mean he is a person,” said Ingraham of Brees after disrespecting the flag more early this week. “It’s beyond football,” she added.
James has now retweeted a video with a compilation of the two cases, suggesting that nationwide protests following the death of George Floyd are occurring “because we’re just tired of F-N for this treatment here!”

“If you still haven’t figured out why the protests continue. Why are we acting the way we are because we’re just tired of FN from this treatment here! Can we break it down for you more simply than this one here ?? ??

He added: “And for my people, don’t worry, I won’t stop until I see the change !!! #ShutUpAndDribbleThisPowerfulBlackManComingFullSteam.”

Ingraham responded to James’ reaction on his Fox News broadcast on Thursday, saying that “every American has the right to speak out on any issue.”

“I think that to heal and shed light on gross injustices, our country needs more dialogue, not less,” said Ingraham. “And we need more respect, not retaliation.”

“Right now the Americans, I think most of them, are looking for reconciliation. It means that politicians, police and even cultural figures are all working together. All of us.”

Brees has been widely criticized by fellow athletes for saying “never agree with anyone who does not respect the flag” when asked about kneeling players to protest police brutality once the season has ended of the NFL started.

The 41-year-old has since apologized saying his comments were insensitive and lacked compassion and empathy.

“I recognize that I should speak less and listen more … and when the black community talks about their pain, we all have to listen. For that, I’m really sorry and I beg your pardon.”

Ingraham and James have a story after telling LA Lakers star and NBA colleague Kevin Durant to “shut up and dribble” after criticizing US President Donald Trump.

“Oh, and LeBron and Kevin: You are great players, but no one voted for you,” she said. “Millions of people have elected Trump to be their coach. So keep the political commentary to yourself or, as someone has said before, shut up and dribble.”
