Ladd met Ree in a bar in the mid-1990s. She had just returned to Oklahoma after her post-graduate years in Los Angeles. Ree planned to move to Chicago for law school. His plans have changed. Ladd and Ree were married on September 21, 1996. At the wedding reception, Ladd was in the men’s locker room watching his Arizona State alma mater play reigning national champion Nebraska. ASU won.
