There’s a lot going on in Kanye West’s neck these days. In the wake of its surprise announcement of a 2020 presidential election, TMZ reports that it has officially received approval for the construction of a huge 52,000 square foot house on its ranch in Wyoming, along with a few other projects that could transform the ranch into a home away from home suitable for a music and fashion billionaire and his family.
You may remember that the West Ranch is located in Cody, Wyoming (one of two in the region), and that it already had a set of cabins and other structures when it purchased in September of last year. Now these will be demolished and replaced by a huge 10-bedroom mansion for himself and his family, as well as a few additional houses on the lake for guests.
Construction of the new homes has not yet started, and before that, more approvals will be required, such as a wastewater permit for a new septic tank. But the building and area permits are ready to go, so ideally for the Wests, work on the projects can begin very soon.
The property will certainly not lack storage space, as among the permits issued there are also plans for not one but two underground garages, each measuring approximately 10,000 square feet each.
More details on these construction projects could be revealed in the future, but for the moment, we know practically only the basic plans. As for whether the Wests are planning to make permanent residence on their Wyoming ranch, prevailing wisdom seems to suggest that it would be somewhat isolated for two people as busy and prolific as Kanye and Kim Kardashian. But a project of this magnitude seems to indicate that they plan to spend a lot more time on the ranch, anyway.
