It’s probably one of the most anticipated books by gossip lovers about royals: Finding Freedom, the biography authorized by Harry and Meghan, is almost ready to hit bookshelves. A book that has been said about everything, including that it could create serious shocks to the royal family, and which aims to tell the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth about the divorce of the Dukes of Sussex from the Royal Family. But could the book really reveal unprecedented intrigues, subterfuges and tensions so as to be the equivalent of Diana’s historic interview with the BBC on November 20, 1995?
Could. Just as, on the contrary, it could throw water on the fire of speculations that, in recent months, have continued to circulate around the British royals. An example? The feud between Kate and Meghan, the quarrels, disagreements and scorns that would have made the Duchess feel unwelcome within the Royal Family would be pure invention of tabloids.
According to the words of Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, authors of the book Kate and Meghan would have no ongoing war, quite the contrary. “The truth is, Meghan and Kate simply don’t know each other so well,” say the authors. The book also dismantles the casus belli from which the voice of the feud would have left: the cry of Kate due to the criticisms and exaggerated requests of Meghan on the dress of the bridesmaid Charlotte on the occasion of her wedding. Like the authors of Finding Freedom have had the opportunity to ascertain through interviews with the people present at that fitting, nobody, and we repeat, nobody has shed tears.
Another small lie told by the usual “well-informed” sources who have, article after article, revelation after revelation, created a climate of painful tension around the Sussexes leading them to a degree of exasperation such that, even today, it manifests itself in position of total intransigence with tabloids.
And who knows, this book may not really mark a red dot on Meghan and Harry’s return to the UK and a rapprochement between the brothers Harry and William.
