How to Change Your YouTube Name

When you first realize the name YouTube, you are kept from hitting that next subscriber milestone? Want to recreate yourself without starting a new channel? You’ve come to the right place. This guide will not help you stay online, but it may be that your channel needs the makeovers you teach, allowing you to change your YouTube name in just a few quick steps.

Before you read, keep in mind that this guide is specifically focused on renaming your channel – that is, the name that appears when people visit your channel’s main page. If you want to change its URL, you can create a custom if it is eligible, or delete it and create a new one, but you cannot change the existing custom URL.

Also keep in mind that although you can change your name several times in quick succession, if you want to try out some options, Google won’t always let you do this, so be sure to give some ideas before going through the process.

Change your YouTube name: If you have a standard, non-branded account

You can change your YouTube name to a standard, non-branded YouTube account, but on all other Google services your name also changes like Gmail. This is because you are changing the name associated with your Google account.

If your YouTube account is a brand account, scroll to the next section for instructions.

Phase 1: Sign in to your YouTube account. To do this, click on sign in In the top right of the YouTube homepage button and input your credit.

step 3: Under Your youtube channel Section, select Edit on google Link to change your name

step 4: On the following screen, change your First Name And Surname Do you want your channel to be called. Press Save Button to finish.

Want to use a nickname? You can do this! Here’s how to add it:

Phase 1: From there Name Screen, click the back arrow icon to the left of the word Name.

stage 2: The text field below changes Surname. Click on the pencil icon to its right.

step 3: On the next screen, enter the nickname you want to use.

step 4: Press Save Button to complete.

Step 5: You return to main Name Page. Click on the arrow to the right of Display as name For a list of optional display options.

Step 6: Press Save C0mplete the button.

And all! From there all your associated Google accounts will use your new name, including your YouTube channel.

Note: The pop up square shaped window may say that changing your name will change it in all Google products. This is not true for brand accounts, as stated. Changing your name for a YouTube brand account should only change it on YouTube. Your main Google Account should remain the same.
