The unique plant belongs to the bromeliad family, which is native to tropical areas. However, they can do well indoors. The pineapple plant has sword-like, prickly green leaves that form dense rosettes. A real pineapple is sprouting on the large middle stem – and no, it’s nothing to eat. The ornamental pineapple or dwarf pineapple is not a snack. Think of it as a different kind of flower.

You want to find a sunny location where your pineapple can thrive. It takes about 6 hours of sunlight a day. According to the description, many people keep the pineapple plant indoors during the winter months and move it outside as soon as it gets warmer. It only needs watering once a week (twice if the soil doesn’t hold the water well), it’s a fairly low maintenance addition for plant parents.

The Pineapple plants are available in the Home Depot for $ 29.98. It comes in a 5 inch designer pot so you have what you need. Fortunately, the plant can be delivered straight to your door, so you have the tiny fruit plant in your hands in no time.

When the warm weather sets in, now is the perfect time to add more green to your collection. And you can’t be more tropical than a pineapple surrounded by leaves, can you?
