‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Fans React After Eric Dane Posts Instagram With Patrick Dempsey

Wednesday the old Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane – who played Dr. Mark Sloan (aka “McSteamy”) for six seasons in medical drama – went to Instagram to share an epic photo of him with another actor Patrick Dempsey, who played Dr. Derek Shepherd (nicknamed “McDreamy”) on the show. Former co-stars are pictured standing on a hill, with Patrick standing six feet behind Eric – a perfect example of appropriate social distancing in the midst of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, as the 47-year-old actor made sure to point out in his legend. “A blurred image of how to stand 6 feet apart,” he wrote.

- The snapshot shows the two former co-stars together on a hill, as well as the caption: “Blurred image of how to stand 6 feet apart”.
- Grey’s fans naturally reacted to the star’s publication by flooding his Twitter and Instagram comments with emotional responses, many expressing nostalgia for the characters who have now disappeared.
Although it is not clear if the photo is a completely new snapshot – which, yes, would mean that the pair had a reunion during their quarantine! – or is actually an old photo back behind the scenes of the Grey’s togetherfans could not help but get into a frenzy over the sweet photo, which brought back quite a few old memories of the two beloved characters – both of whom were killed in the series.
“HOW TO EXPECT YOU TO GO ON YOU GUYS IF YOU DO THIS,” wrote one fan, responding to the star’s post on Twitter. “I am [sic] do you feel attacked, “tweeted another fan, alongside a GIF of the two characters crying in an old man Grey’s scene.
Another Grey’s the viewer rang and wrote: “Ugh! Right on target! @GreysABC is not the same without the two of you!”
Of course, the enthusiasm of the fans is understandable given that it was years since they saw the two actors together on the screen! Eric left the series in 2012 after six seasons playing the hunk “McSteamy”, his character unfortunately dying at the start of season 9 due to the complications he suffered from a plane crash. It didn’t take long before Patrick Dempsey’s Dr. Derek Shepherd left the series after him, the fan-favorite character dying in a tragic Car Accident in Season 11.
“I am extremely grateful to all Grey‘S, ABC and Shondaland for the experience and memories I had during this race, “said Eric TVLine in 2012. “It has been wonderful to work alongside and learn from a creative force like Shonda Rhimes.”
Well while we are again mourning the loss of McDreamy and McSteamy, looks like we have this adorable photo of the two “McBrothers” – and their stellar example of social distancing – in case we need a sweet dose of Grey’s nostalgia.
