Garth Brooks Discusses His Ex-Wife Sandy Mahl’s Claims in A&E Documentary Special

Before the end of 2019, the country music star who won a Grammy Garth Brooks received A&E document processing.

The 58-year-old artist’s rise was discussed in the two-night special Garth Brooks: The road I’m on. Part of the A&E documentary included in-depth interviews with relatives of the singer of “Friends in Low Places”, including his ex-wife Sandy Mahl, with whom Garth was married between 1986 and 2001.

Sandy is a talented songwriter herself and is even credited with Garth’s songs “I have a good thing” and “This summer”. But beyond being an artist, Sandy is also the mother of Garth’s three daughters, Taylor, 27, August, 25 and Ally, 23.

  • Before Garth Brooks married his current wife, Trisha Yearwood, he was married to his ex, Sandy Mahl, for 15 years.
  • Together, Sandy and Garth have three daughters – Taylor, 27, August 25, and Allie, 23.
  • Sandy was interviewed in the 2019 A&E documentary special Garth Brooks: The road I’m on.
  • Garth and Trish will perform at the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday May 2 at 8 p.m. AND.

Looking at his early days in the music industry, Garth said We weekly that he was constantly traveling during his marriage and that of Sandy. And when the country star did it all, Sandy said in the documentary that things were getting harder and harder for the couple.

“People constantly want your attention and shoot and shoot him,” she said. “He would have left eight to ten weeks at a time. He was going home, [and] there would be number one parties, or shows, or CMAs, or ACMs, American Music Awards, so it was going on constantly. But we both separated very, very quickly. “

“I don’t think any of us stopped to think about how it could change our lives,” she added later.

After watching Sandy tell her side of the story in the documentary, Garth said he was “really surprised” to hear what she had to say about their relationship.

“It was phenomenal,” he said. “[I was] went so much down the road [during our marriage], there were things that I guess she was [trying to tell] me that I did not hear until this biography. It is rare to hear the other side. I just saw her and I think I hugged her harder than ever now that I know things that I haven’t heard or that she hasn’t said so far. “

Garth also echoed a similar sentiment when speaking to Fox News.

“I have heard things from her that she has told me all of our lives, but I have not heard them so far,” he said at the point of sale. “And so my respect and love for her is through the roof for what she went through and how she handled it too.”

In 2001, the couple eventually separated. But in 1987, just after he and Sandy got married, Garth met his current wife, Trisha Yearwood, for the very first time. At the sound of this, Garth and Trisha felt an immediate connection with each other. At the time, however, Trisha was also married.

“It’s strange because I felt that feeling like when you just met your wife, but I was married [to Sandy Mahl] for 13 months, “said Garth in a 2013 Ellen Degeneres show interview. “Being married must be true. It was who you went to college with, and you were married before God and your family and everything.”

He then turned to talk about Trisha: “There comes a time when you look at the rest of your life and say,” How do you want to live? ” [Trisha] is someone I always liked to be around, and we had a lot more in common than I had ever imagined and we started seeing each other after the divorce, after we left the tour. “Trisha and Garth got engaged in 2005 and got married the same year.

Now, Sandy works in animal rehabilitation and wildlife rescue at the Wild Heart Ranch in Rogers County, Oklahoma. Since they separated, the two have committed to co-parenting their three daughters.

“They saw their parents in the morning and their parents in the evening and for 14 years,” said Garth to Tennessean. “This is how we did it, because we knew it was good for these children. If you did what was good for the children, you were going to do what was good for you. It was simple.”
