From Limbo with Love About the project
Both in lockdown, stylist Lauren Kennedy Malpas and photographer Fiona Torre wanted to explore a new style of teamwork to create a story inspired by their feelings in quarantine. Creating a makeshift studio on Lauren’s terrace in Lisbon, Fiona directed the shots via her computer from her mountain house in the French Pyrenées.
Empty parking lots, eerily quiet streets, watching flowers bloom from afar. This feeling of being alone, yet also somehow united like never before. Holding onto the hope that by using our stillness now, together we are able to create and rethink a new direction for our future, one that is plentiful to us and the planet at large

Fiona Torre is a French photographer, drawing inspiration from her teenage years in the south of France, shaping her fantasies out of boredom and daydreams. Her desire to create images came from her fascination for these posters of stars pinned on her bedroom walls, and the discovery of the American color photographers.
Blurring the lines between studio and outdoor shooting, fashion and documentary, she creates a tender and elegant world characteristic of her work for magazines and brands such as Fashion Italia, Kenzo, Proenza Schouler, and JW Anderson.
Lauren Kennedy Malpas
Lauren Kennedy Malpas is a Paris based fashion stylist and art director. While cross-cultural influences gave birth to her distinctive style, an allergy to rules, a deep nostalgia for the past, and a pang of hunger for freshness fuel her creative vision. Forever in a daydream, she loves to confuse fantasy with the real world for magazines and clients including Fashion Italia, Chanel, Nina Ricci, and Hermès.
