In the wake of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s second episode, Erin Kellyman shows a new side of the Flag-Smashers with a lighthearted BTS image.

As The Falcon and The Winter Soldier continues to enthrall MCU fans, actor Erin Kellyman cast the Flag-Smashers in a new light with a BTS image. Continuing Marvel Studio’s official foray into streaming television, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan stepped into the spotlight for the second Disney+ series. In the wake of Steve Rogers’ retirement, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes have sought to move forward with their lives in different ways. The former has tried to reconnect with his struggling family following The Blip, while also rejecting the idea of being Captain America’s replacement. The latter, meanwhile, has remained largely in self-imposed isolation and make amends for his past crimes.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier episode 2, “The Star-Spangled Man” served to bring the pair officially back together. With John Walker announced as the new Captain America, he immediately embarked on a publicity tour and several missions. In response, Bucky angrily sought Sam out regarding his decision to give up the shield. Before they could fully settle the issue, however, the titular pair found themselves drawn into a new conspiracy. Their investigation rapidly brought them into conflict not only with Walker but a new terrorist group called the Flag-Smashers. Despite it initially seeming otherwise, the group was soon revealed to be led by Karli Morgenthau – a superpowered individual played by Kellyman.

In the wake of the latest episode, Kellyman took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes image. Captioned “Meet the Flag Smashers” the photo depicted the eight-person group taking a break between scenes. Each pulling a silly face and holding their hands in a variety of gestures, they appeared to be having a great time despite the assuredly exhausting schedule. Kellyman herself opted to stick her tongue out and hold her fingers in a reverse peace sign. The overall result proved to be the direct antithesis of the group’s demeanor glimpsed within The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Check it out below:

The British performer burst into mainstream success with a fan-favorite turn as Enfys Nest in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Still has since channeled that popularity into parts on such upcoming projects as The Green Knight and the television sequel to 1988’s Willow. Based on the responses to her above post, her work in the MCU series has only earned her more acclaim and fans. It’s not difficult to see why. Despite utilizing some extreme methods, the agenda of the Flag-Smashers has been largely understandable. As well as seeking to help those displaced by The Blip, they have sought to bring down patriotic ideologies and unite the world under one banner. Just how far they are willing to go in that quest, however, shall remain to be seen.

Adding to sympathies for the group was that they, themselves, are being pursued by an arguably bigger villain. In episode 2, the Flag-Smashers were threatened by somebody known as The Power Broker. Equally, one of their own had to sacrifice himself so that the others wouldn’t be caught by their agents. As such, it could end up that Karli and her group ultimately team with Bucky and Sam. Whatever the future holds, however, the Flag-Smashers will no doubt clash with the titular pair a few more times first. In the process, the group will likely retain their stoic demeanors and match Bucky in terms of intense stares. Given the inherent silliness of the above image, though, those moments will serve as a testament to the quality of the acting being offered by Kellyman and the others.
