TNPSC Group 4 Syllabus 2022: Tamil Nadu Public Services Commission (TNPSC) conducts the combined civil services examination – 4 (Group-IV) for direct recruitment of candidates in the following services in the state of Tamil Nadu:

Tamil Nadu Judicial Ministerial Service
Tamil Nadu Survey and Land Records Subordinate Service
Tamil Nadu Secretariat Service
Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Secretariat Service

TNPSC recruits candidates for the post of Village Administrative Officer (VAO), Junior Assistant (Non – Security & Security), Bill Collector, Grade-I, Field Surveyor, Draftsman, Typist, Steno-Typist(Grade-III). In this article we have discussed in detail, the TNPSC Group 4 Syllabus and Exam Pattern.

TNPSC Group 4 Exam Pattern
There will be three (3) papers for the TNPSC Group 4 Exam. All the questions will be objective in nature. Before we get into the TNPSC Group IV Syllabus, let us first have a look at the Exam Pattern.

Points To Note For TNPSC Group IV Exam

The TNPSC Group 4 Prelims Exam will be conducted in offline mode.
The candidates have to mark the answers on the OMR sheet provided to them by the exam body.
After conducting the exam successfully, the TNPSC Answer Key is released. It gives the candidates to tally their answers and thereby raise objections if any.
Two types of question papers will be set.Type- 1:-: General Studies (75 items) + Aptitude & Mental Ability Test (25 items) and GeneralEnglish (100 items).Type-2:-: General Studies (75 items) + Aptitude & Mental Ability Test (25 items) and GeneralTamil (100 items)
Candidates are given the option to choose either General Tamil or General English for answering the second 100 items apart from answering the first (75+25)100 items on General Studies and Aptitude & Mental Ability Test
There is no negative marking in the TNPSC Group 4 exam.

The TNPSC Group 4 syllabus comprises the following sections.

General Studies
Aptitude and Mental Ability test
General English/General Tamil

Two types of question papers will be set.Type- 1:-: General Studies (75 items) + Aptitude & Mental Ability Test (25 items) and General English (100 items).Type-2:-: General Studies (75 items) + Aptitude & Mental Ability Test (25 items) and General Tamil (100 items)
Out of the two types, the candidates are given the choice to opt for any one of them. The sections wise syllabus has been explained below in detail.

Ans. The candidates will have to secure a minimum of 90 marks out of 300 marks.
Q. Will the TNPSC Group 4 Exam Objective in nature?
Ans. Yes, the exam will be objective in nature with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Q. What will be the language of the TNPSC Group 4 Exam?
Ans. All the questions will be set bilingually, i.e. English and Tamil, and the questions on General Tamil/ General English will be set in the respective languages.
