When it comes to actors, Dylan McDermott’s long and varied career is something of a rarity. He has worked successfully in films like Steel Magnolias, Wonderland and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, when network television was in decline, he appeared on the hugely popular ABC show The Practice. “Well, the whole show revolves around Hollywood, hence the title,” says McDermott. “It’s really a revisionist story of Hollywood in the 1940s. And if women, people of color, gays were treated equally.”
