Distance MBA (MBA Distance Education) is a lucrative career option for those who cannot pursue a full-time MBA programme due to many circumstances like lack of money to afford the course, work schedule etc. Distance learning MBA is a flexible and affordable option that does not require candidates to attend classes regularly.

UG/AICTE recognizes MBA Distance Education programmes. Few universities and institutes in India offer MBA courses in distance mode. Nowadays, most universities offering distance MBA courses have established placement cells so that candidates are placed in multinational companies, government jobs etc. in profiles like Corporate Associate, Portfolio Manager, Finance Analyst, Credit Risk Manager, Executive, Senior Executive etc.

Distance MBA Eligibility & Entrance Exams

Any graduate candidates can apply for the Distance MBA programme. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of work experience.

Most of the institutes conduct their own entrance exams, while some do not have an entrance test. E.g., Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning (SCDL) accepts scores of management exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA, etc. On the other hand, NMIMS Global Access School for Continuing Education offers admission based on the eligibility criteria (Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized university with 50%  marks in aggregate along with two years work experience).

IGNOU provides admission to candidates based on IGNOU OPENMAT (conducted twice a year).
