The candidates who have are declared qualified in stage 1 exam for 444 vacancies for Section Officer (SO) and Assistant Section Officer (ASO) posts have to now appear for the Stage 2 Exam for which the exam dates has been announced along with CSIR CASE CBT 1 Result 2024 on 3rd June 2024. The officials have notified that the CSIR SO ASO Stage 2 Exam is to be held on 7th July 2024. The Paper-III (Descriptive Exam) will be conducted in the morning shift and CPT (for the post of ASO only) will be conducted in the afternoon shift at the same examination venue.

CSIR Recruitment 2024 Application Form

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has started accepting online application forms for Section Officer (SO) and Assistant Section Officer (ASO) posts. The last date to submit the online application forms for CSIR Recruitment for SO ASO posts was 13th January 2024 (extended). Along with the application form for the Combined Administrative Services Examination (CASE – 2023) candidates are required to give their preference for the Posts viz. Section Officer (SO) and Assistant Section Officer (ASO) and Cadres viz. General (Gen), Finance & Accounts (F&A), and Stores & Purchase (S&P) posts.

CSIR Recruitment 2024 Application Fee

Candidates must have to pay a fixed amount of the application fee as mentioned in the CSIR notification PDF. Candidates belonging to Unserved (UR), OBC, and EWS categories have to pay Rs. 500/- and Women/SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/CSIR Departmental Candidates are not required to pay any application fee to apply online for CSIR Section Officer Recruitment 2024. CSIR Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

To get selected for Section Officer (SO) and Assistant Section Officer (ASO) posts under CSIR Recruitment 2024 candidates have to undergo 3 stages of the selection process. Stage 1 exam consists of Paper 1 and Paper 2 exams, and Stage 2 exam consists of Paper 3 exam. The third stage of the selection process for the Section Officer (SO) posts is the Interview Exam and for Assistant Section Officer (ASO) posts is the Computer Proficiency Test. The final selection of the candidates will be based on the total marks scored by the candidates in all stages of the recruitment process.

  • Stage 1 (Paper 1 and Paper 2 Exam): CSIR will conduct the Stage 1 exam of the Combined Administrative Services Examination – 2023 (CASE – 2023) to shortlist eligible candidates for the next stage of the recruitment process. Based on candidates’ aggregate marks in Paper – I and Paper– II will be called for Paper-III (Descriptive Paper).
  • Stage 2 (Paper 3): Candidates who declared qualified in the CSIR Stage 1 examination will be eligible to appear for the Stage 2, Paper 3 examination. Paper 3 exam which will be held descriptive type.
  • Stage 3 (Interview Exam for Section Officer Posts): Based on aggregate marks in papers 1, 2, and 3 candidates will be called to appear for the Interview exam. The interview exam will carry a total of 100 marks.
  • Stage 3 (Computer Proficiency Test for Assistant Section Officer Posts): The 3 stage of examination for Assistant Section Officer (ASO) Posts is the Computer Proficiency Test which is qualifying in nature and will be conducted for a total of 100 marks.

  • Combined Administrative Services Examination (CASE – 2023) for Section Officer posts will be held for Stage 1 (Paper 1 and Paper 2 exam), Stage 2 ( Paper 3 exam), and Stage 3 exam for Computer Proficiency Test.
  • Each question paper will be asked in Hindi and English language.
  • There will be a negative marking in Paper 1 and Paper 2, 0.33 marks will be deducted for for each wrong answer.
  • CASE computer-based examination for Assistant Section Officer (Gen/F&A/S&P) posts will be held for a total of 500 marks.
  • Stage 3 Computer Proficiency Test is Qualifying in nature. No marks will be included in the final selection process.
