Colt knows he has a type, and it hasn’t always worked out. In this exclusive interview, find out why he’s a sucker for “love handles” and more.
Over the course of his time in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, Colt Johnson has been on quite the romance rollercoaster. He’s gone through two unsuccessful relationships and is actively looking to embark on his third. The Nevada native has gone through an impressive weight loss transformation and now Colt is back on the prowl. For Colt, it took learning what he didn’t want to figure out what he did want, and now that his tastes have evolved, he knows exactly the kind of woman he’s looking for. He opened up about his dating game in an exclusive interview with Screen Rant.
On 90 Day Fiancé and Happily Ever After? viewers saw Colt in two relationships with two different Brazilian bombshells—Larissa Lima and Jess Caroline. His relationships with both women were extremely volatile and neither ended on good terms. Colt clearly has a thing for fiery, explosive women, which has not worked out for him in the past. Since his last relationship ended, Colt has been working on himself. He knows the type of woman he’s attracted to, but he’s still looking for someone a little more subdued.

Colt is trying to be the best version of himself in his next relationship, and his tastes have evolved. In an interview with Screen Rant, Colt detailed the traits he hopes his next partner possesses. Colt said he wants “someone that’s humble and curious that can go with the flow.” Curiosity is important to Colt, but he also wants to find someone who’s not so “resistant,” because he’s found that causes problems. “I don’t know if I’m just getting lazier or older in life,” he added, “but I just want less conflict.”
Of course, for Colt, one of the most important traits in a partner is someone who can get along with his mother Debbie. Colt always wants his mother to be a major part of his life, and his significant others in the past haven’t felt the same way about her. Larissa had several iconic blowups with Debbie, but Colt thinks it’s because they are too similar. “Larissa and my mother are very similar people…they’re two different sides of the same coin,” he said. “You can only have one side up at a time. I think that was the problem—the two butting heads.”
But when it comes to physical appearance, Colt certainly has a type. “I definitely like curvy girls,” Colt articulated, “I think I’m attracted to them, or they’re attracted to me, or it’s a mutual understanding.” For Colt, there’s nothing that gets his heart beating quite like a gorgeous woman with curves. “I just love the love handles, let me tell you,” he joked. Looks are important, but not as essential as a personality that Colt wants to spend the rest of his life with. Colt wants to find “someone who’s caring and loving and just down to earth,” he said. “That’s good enough for me.”
After a long and winding road of love, Colt finally has a good grasp of what he wants and what works with his personality. Fans don’t know what Colt’s relationship status is, as the 90 Day Fiancé star is trying to turn a friends-with-benefits situation into something more serious on the spin-off The Single Life. Knowing what he wants and the kind of girl he should be with is the first step, but whether he can resist his attraction to pot-stirring women remains to be seen.
