Doctor Strange Star Benedict Cumberbatch has signed on to direct a limited-series adaptation of author John Buchan’s novel The 39 steps, which was adapted by directing icon Alfred Hitchcock in 1935. The Cumberbatch-directed series will update the story for modern times, with Netflix winning the rights to the project.
