Anxiety disorders : Usually anxiety is a common phenomenon and mostly faced by everyone in their life. It could be your first day to office or your simple speech or simply before making an important decision. All these are few examples of anxiety. Anxiety disorders in other words mean temporary fear or worry. This is normal and do not need any special attention. But in some cases it calls for a doctor’s help as it may get worse and start fiddling with his daily routine, then it is a matter of immediate help, as it will intervene with his relationships, progress and growth.

Anxiety disorders

There are three types of anxiety disorder

Usually mild anxiety is common and lasts for a few minutes or says for a specific event, but if the anxiety disorder continues for 6 months, then it is really something serious and calls for immediate treatment. All of three different anxiety disorders have different symptoms revolving around fear and tension.

Generalized anxiety disorder GAD)

There is some anxiety triggers like alcohol or exploitation. In this case the person has to be talked about the actual cause. A small meeting can help in treating him and then his treatments  will respond well and facilitate in curing fast. The most appropriate way of treating anxiety disorder is to talk to the doctor.

Panic disorder

Sometimes a physical assessment may reveal that anxiety disorder is related to physical illness. After the diagnosis, he may come to know the reason of anxiety disorder. It could be depression, alcoholism, etc, that havea strong impact on the person and while treating the person these anxieties trigger should be first worked out with.

Social Anxiety disorder (Social phobia)

After treatment the person will lead a normal life. After you have examined with anxiety disorder what you should do is to meet mental health professional. There are some medicines and behavioral therapy that is helpful in treating the anxiety. A Person should tell about his problem in details to the mental health professional. If he is not comfortable with him, then he should be taken by someone else. Once he has poured out his heart, then a team can work on him and help him recover.

Anxiety disorder is treated with medicines, counseling and few therapies. A person should follow up with his medicine regularly and should continue with it as soon as it starts showing positive results. Usually its anti-anxiety drugs, beta-blockers and antidepressants that are given to the anxiety ill person. These medicines work effectively only if consumed regularly. It may be possible that symptoms may come back once the medication is stopped.

Every person has different treatments as planned by the doctors. Here are few anxiety tips which you should discuss with the doctor-

  • About the medicines- Is your medicine working well or how much improvement is seen?

  • Side effects of medicine- You should check out with side effects of the medicine with your doctor.

  • Lifestyle change- You should ask a doctor if there are any lifestyle changes that to be made along with the medication.

  • Results of therapies- Whatever medicines, therapies, vitamins you are having, you should talk with the doctor and how it is affecting the treatment.

  • Discontinuation of Medication- You should consult with the doctor as to when it should be stopped. Some medicines are stopped abruptly and some are tapered slowly and that too under doctor’s supervision.
