Amy Adams Uncovers Shocking Secrets in Netflix Thriller

We have a brand new trailer for The woman at the window. The thriller, which stars Amy Adams (Justice League, American Hustle), has been delayed for a while, but is finally coming out thanks to the folks at Netflix. On paper, this one has a lot to offer, from the A-list cast to the prestigious Joe Wright (Darkest hour, Atonement) Behind the camera. Netflix got the ball rolling by saying, “Shocking secrets have been revealed and nothing and no one is who they appear to be in this psychological thriller.”

The trailer opens by introducing us to Amy Adams’ character Anna, who is agoraphobic and cannot leave her house. She’s slipped into a dark state of mind lately. Anna seems to find solace in spying on her neighbors. However, it takes a dark turn one night. Afterwards, things get confusing. The boundaries between reality and fiction are blurred for her, as well as for the public. There are undoubtedly some old school vibes of Alfred Hitchcock here. Looking more specifically at something like Rear window. It remains to be seen whether the rework and retooling were able to resolve the alleged problems that arose during the drug tests.

This one has a long and complicated history. The film was originally set up at 20th Century Fox and was produced before the Disney merger. It’s said to have been fairly poorly tested during preview screenings, which has led to some behind-the-scenes reshoots and re-tools. Once the Disney / Fox deal was done, rather than taking the risk and releasing it in theaters, Disney instead chose to sell it to Netflix. Previously, it was due to arrive in theaters last May after being delayed previously. Safe to say, this one had a rocky road to get out. Especially for a film with so many prestigious talents involved.

The Woman in the Window Poster

The woman at the window focuses on Anna Fox (Amy adams). She’s an agoraphobic child psychologist who finds herself keeping tabs on a seemingly idealistic family across the street through the windows of her apartment in New York City. Her life is turned upside down when she accidentally witnesses a brutal crime. It is based on the bestselling Daniel Mallory novel and was adapted for the screen by Tracy Letts. The cast also includes Gary Oldman, Anthony Mackie, Fred Hechinger, Wyatt Russell, Brian Tyree Henry, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Julianne Moore.

That’s just a brick in the wall for Netflix in 2021. The streaming service has outright an avalanche of original movies coming up this year, with over 70, in total, set to arrive. The company promised at least one new movie per week. Some of the big titles still on deck include Zack Snyder’s Army of the dead, By Dwayne Johnson Red Notice and Adam McKay’s Don’t look up. The woman at the window is slated to arrive May 14 on the Netflix streaming service. Make sure to check out the new trailer for yourself.
