A BET COVID-19 Relief Effort’ Benefit Concert Special

This Wednesday evening, Anthony Anderson, Regina Hall, Kelly Rowland, and Terrence J will virtually join forces to present the concert of rescue services for BET coronaviruses Saving Ourselves: A BET COVID-19 Rescue Effort.

This April 22 special will feature virtual performances and big star appearances, including Alicia Keys, D.J. Khaled, John legend, Chance the Rapper, Bailiff, Jhené Aiko, Tyrese, and Charlie Wilson. Before the special event, BET partnered with Centraide on a relief fund to “support and amplify relief efforts in our communities severely affected by the pandemic.” As CNN notes, African-Americans are infected and die disproportionately from the coronavirus.

“The COVID-19 pandemic savagely exacerbates the deep financial and health vulnerabilities faced by many black Americans. Every day, new reports indicate that this pandemic is killing African Americans at much higher rates than other communities. ” Scott Mills, president of BET, said in a statement. “BET uses all of our res – our capital, our media platforms, our relationships with the creative community, sponsors, businesses and charities to support our community in this time of crisis.”

The two-hour special will be broadcast on all BET channels (BET, BET Her, BET International) and Bounce on Wednesday April 22 at 8 p.m. AND.
