US based sneaker retailer concepts have a long history of collaborations with New Balance. They’re about to add to this list with the “Esplanade”, which is releasing at the end of this week. The base model is the 997.5, one of New Balance’s chunkier silhouettes.
Said to be inspired by the scenic area around Boston’s Charles River, this collaboration features a unique teal, white and mustard colourway. They say it’s all in the details and this release is packed full of special touches that really make for a good sneaker. If, like us, you’re avid sneakerheads, it’s these little extras that make a limited edition trainer that little bit more special.
As mentioned earlier, the release is packed full of extra touches that really make this release stand out as a winner. It’s constructed of grey synthetic leather, with a mesh toe box and suede tongue both in accentuating colours. Reflective elements are also present, along with Concepts branding printed on the insoles and engraved onto the red lace lock. The sneaker comes with three lace variations so you can choose whichever suits your style best, and a limited edition co-branded box.
If you want to get your hands on a pair of these runners, the good news is that they’re set to drop at the end of this week, September 8th to be exact. They’ll be available via Concepts’ stores in New York and Boston, and via their online store. They’re rumoured to be very limited so if you want to get your hands on a pair make sure you’re ready and waiting.
